This review practices the main vocabulary and grammar of Units 1, 2 and 3.

Jobs vocabulary

• tailor: makes clothes. paramedic: helps sick or injured people. architect: designs buildings. mechanic: fixes cars. traffic officer: helps people cross the road safely. teacher: works in a classroom.

Key words

• vehicle: a bus is a kind of vehicle. community: a group of people who live together. uniform: doctors and paramedics wear one. bin: we throw rubbish in the bin. recycling: we put bottles and paper in the recycling bin. emergency: we call 123 in an emergency.

Grammar review

1. Present simple (habits and routines): Ali visits his grandparents every Saturday. Do you usually go out with your friends? Add -s with he / she / it.
2. Present continuous (actions happening now): The children are playing in the park today. We are not listening to the radio at the moment. Is the cat sleeping on the couch?
3. can / can't / able to (ability): A fish can't walk, but it can swim. She can't swim, so she wears a life jacket. Now we are able to visit our family more often. My little brother can't tie his shoes yet, but he is learning.

Reading practice

• Ali helps his friends at school. He picks up rubbish in the playground and puts it in the bin, and he tells his friends to recycle paper and bottles. He thinks everyone should keep the school clean.
• Whiskers the small kitten is playing next to a big green park when a big noisy dog runs by. He gets scared and runs into the middle of the park, where he is alone and does not know how to get home. The characters are Whiskers and the dog, the setting is a cozy house and a big green park on a sunny morning, and the problem is that Whiskers is lost.

Writing and projects

• Make a poster that tells people how to keep their community clean.
• Match problems and solutions: lots of trash on the streets leads to a community clean-up day and more bins; children without a safe place to play need a new community center or a safe playground; people who do not know their neighbors can have a "Meet Your Neighbors" day with games and food; a park with broken swings and dirty benches needs the city to fix the equipment and clean it regularly.
• Reflection: write two sentences about how you help your family or community.
