Life in a village is peaceful and simple. Villages have green fields, tall trees, quiet hills, and friendly people.

• People live in cozy cottages.
• The main square is the busiest place; people meet there to shop at the market.
• Farmers keep cows, sheep, and chickens in barns.
• Children and friends play games at the community center.
• At night the village is quiet.

Language in use: Prepositions of time

• at: clock times, mealtimes, and some phrases: at 6 a.m., at lunchtime, at night.
• in: parts of the day, months, seasons, and years: in the afternoon, in summer, in 2020, in December.
• on: days and dates: on Saturdays, on June 8th.

Math in English: Multiply it with words

A farmer has 4 boxes, each with 32 apples. Multiply: 32 × 4 = 128 apples. Step 1: 2 ones × 4 = 8 ones. Step 2: 3 tens × 4 = 12 tens (120). Then add: 120 + 8 = 128.

Pronunciation: Trigraphs

A trigraph is a group of three letters that makes one sound.

• tch sounds like "ch": match.
• igh sounds like "i": right, flight, bright.
• dge sounds like "j": bridge, fridge.

Lesson 4: The New Administrative Capital

The New Administrative Capital is a new city about 45 km east of Cairo. It helps reduce crowding in Cairo. It is a smart city: modern technology is used to manage roads, water, energy, and almost everything. It has green areas, government offices, a new airport, and the Iconic Tower, the tallest building in Africa (385 meters high, 80 floors, made of strong glass and steel).

Use "I, me, my". Include the setting (where), a goal, description with the five senses and adjectives, and an ending.
